Teach your students about the end of Ramadan and the importance of Eid ul-Fitr (the alternate spelling of Eid al-Fitr) while helping them practice their reading comprehension with this ELA Eid resource! This short text explains the reason behind Ramadan fasting and Eid ul-Fitr traditions, including the community aspect of celebrating and breaking the month-long fast.
Ten open-ended questions follow the reading passage. This allows you to implement the activity in whichever format you wish. To emphasize the community aspect of the celebration, have your students popcorn read and discuss as a whole class about the celebration! Alternatively, you can have them answer the questions on their own to practice their writing skills.
